The WARRIOR Mind, Body & Spirit -our signature Retreat- takes us to the magical city of Cusco, a Living Empire in Peru, traditionally known as the navel of the world.
Get ready to go through a very powerful and liberating journey!
In Cusco, every corner tells a story and every story is captivating, mystical and inviting. In these streets time seems to have stopped, every corner offers a piece of history, and the stones remain alive because they have survived intact. Cusco witnessed the arrival of the Spanish, and yet to this day it conserves an ancestral magic which captivates the thousands of visitors who each year form part of its living history.
In 1983, UNESCO granted Cusco the title of “Cultural Heritage of the Humanity”, imagine that! Now you have the opportunity to be part of it and be in it. It doesn’t take long to fall in love with the city and its people. You feel all its energy almost immediately!
We start by arriving at Cusco city and acclimating to the beautiful Andes. A deep breath of fresh air is all we need to get started on this wonderful journey.
Not only was Cusco the center of the Inca empire, but it is also the place where Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world resides. The feeling you get when you start to view that which you may have only seen through post cards or photos on Instagram posts is indescribable.
Cusco and its people, much like us, has a history of overcoming adversities. It has experienced failures and triumphs, joy and pain, happiness and sadness, war and peace. But in the end, they overcame. Cusco is home to the largest indigenous population of descendants from the ancient Incas and Quechuas.
Although the Inca empire came to an end through the Spanish conquests, the people remained and overcame adversity.
Does that sound familiar? Each of us experience adversities and even though we may feel stuck or as if there is nothing more we can do, in the end we overcome.

Q: Is it true that some people get altitude sickness?
A: Yes, some people experience some symptoms of altitude sickness (Soroche). Cusco is 11,152 feet above sea level. In order to acclimate we will be doing some breathwork and light physical activity on the first day of your arrival. There are also some teas that can help with altitude sickness such as Muña Tea, Coca Tea or chew on Coca Candy. There is also some medicine that can be taken such as Acetazolamide that we will have readily available for you. In Peru, this medication can be purchased without prescription. In the US, it requires prescription. One recommendation is that If you’re able to get Acetazolamide in the US, take it one to two days before you arrive in Cusco so that you’re already at a therapeutic level by the time you’re in high altitude.
